Path to Influence

I have a vision where access to fresh water is NOT a global crisis.

My purpose is to reduce unnecessary suffering. I am passionate about resource management.

Hi, my name is Patrick Council. I have a vision where access to fresh water is not a global crisis. Ever since I was a kid, I wanted to develop technology to free people from the suffering that comes with not meeting basic needs. At an early age, I decided that I would become an engineer to have the opportunity to develop solutions the world needs. I struggled through school, but I still managed to get on the track for engineering school. When faced with the challenge of financing, I joined the military to acquire the necessary funding to get through college. After being honorably discharged I immediately returned to college and pushed harder than I ever have in my life.

My efforts paid off and I graduated from the Colorado School of Mines with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Magna Cum Laude in 2017. I achieved a goal set in my childhood that I have been pursuing for 17 years through determination and persistence. Many tried to stop me and pull me down, but I kept my eyes on the goal. There were many times I could have stopped, but I continued even when it got unbearable. I got a job with the Bureau of Reclamation servicing hydroelectric generators in the Western United States.

During my coursework, I had an idea that could completely change the world using electromagnetism. This idea would help address access to fresh water, and I worked up a design that would theoretically work off of the physics in electromagnetism. While working for the Bureau of Reclamation I have been trying to figure out how to fund such a development, but until recently I have been unwilling to ask others for help.

My wife and I had our first child in the summer of 2021, and this event has completely changed my stance on my vision and my role in the world. When I look into my daughter’s eyes, I see all of the children in the world with parents who would do anything for them. This love for my daughter sparked the inferno of passion for making the world a better place not only for her but for all of the children in the world.

Since my daughter has come into our lives I have been setting the foundation for taking my ideas and launching them. I recognize the key variable in all of this is the person leading the effort: Me. I have personal coaching and attended an equivalent of 10 years worth of therapy in a span of 3 months since my daughter was born. My life changed dramatically 3 times this year!

Patrick Council met his $12,997 funding goal to go to Influence as of December 23, 2021!

I am attending the keystone Global Leadership Class: Influence. This class is in March 2022. This class continues off two previous classes I attended where I have fully immersed myself in the most transformative experience I have ever had in a short amount of time. My mind has never been more clear and I realized that I’ve never been at peace in my whole life. This helped me considerably with my experience in the military and deployment in Iraq. I feel that everything is so clear and I didn’t have this clarity when I got myself through the military and engineering school.

This class will provide me with the tools necessary to lead at a global level, which is necessary for being able to bring solutions that the world needs onto the global stage. I want to change the world, and I recognize that this submersion of extreme leadership is critical for me to achieve this goal.

I am grateful for all of the support I have received right before Christmas 2021! Thank you all!
